Scowser with WHH barges at Kings Wharf (the new offices for the Guardian Newspaper) in Kings Cross

Un-named boat at Paddington in March 2008 getting ready to tow a works barge (used to paint the underneath of bridges over the canals for the council) This boat is part of this
company

Ara and Archimedes at warwick Avenue April 2008

BW's brand new un-named Wide Beam Tug is seen under the Westway bridge at Paddington late May 2008
WHH's vessels moored at Stone Wharf, Paddington (or LittleVenice which ever one prefers but its strictly within the precincts of Paddington basin even tho Little Venice is just 45 yards away through the bridge hole!) The boats are (L to R) Church (with yellow portacabin) Eiger and tug Ilda

Beachley at Hampstead Road lock en route to the Hertford Union on 23 May 2008. The boat had originally begun this paticular journey at Brentford, and took the circuitous route via Little Venice, despite the far shorter route via the Thames!

Tug Naseby seen at Brentford June 17th in what seems a garish green colour. Mikron's 'Tyseley' was just mooring to another boat when I took these photos

WHH tug with dumb barge at Macclesfield Bridge, June 2008. This unusual perspective was achieved using a powerful zoom lens as the block of flats seen above the bridge are in fact sited much further along Prince Albert Road

BW's patrol boat Verrulam passing the Warwick Crescent estate on the Paddington Arm, July 2008

Perhaps an unusual freight working, but its actually Fountain's Sam doing his regular rounds along the towpath. Prior to the summer Thames 21 had the contract for cleaning the Regents park section, but after the work went out to tender Fountain won the contract

Thames 21's crew on Griffin, homeward bound, spotted at Lisson Grove in the second week of September 2008. Less contract work equals more time for a cuppa?

BW at work in Regents Park during the second week in September. The St Pancras crew were covering for the Little Venice crew who were on holiday 'again!'

Wood Hall's newbie tug driver was halfway to Paddington before realising he should have gone up the Grand Union! Here he is seen by The Westway/Harrow Road bridge reversing back to the pool at Little Venice to gain the correct route

Collingwood passing the pseudo-Nash houses in Regents park on the last weekend of September 2008

Not really a freight working but Granny Buttons with Andrey Denny on the tiller is seen winding at Dingwalls above Hampstead Road Locks on 28 September 2008

The entire afternoon and early evening at Hamspeatd Road north side lock was taken up by The Cheeky Charmer becoming a sound stage and hosting a rock and pop gig. But was this authorised by BW? Well at least its a novel way of bringing popular music to the centre of Camden!
