Mile End Lock

The last lock before Limehouse.

The bottom of the 12 Regents Canal locks. This is Commercial Road and its the only one left that has a traditional double arched bridge

The footbridge across the tail of Commercial Road lock. The adjacent viaduct carries the Docklands Light Railway. Above it can be seen the Limehouse Acclumator tower.

Limehouse Acclumator Tower. This was built to provide power for the hydraulic capstans and gates on the Regents Canal's ship lock, as well as a swing bridge and several dockside cranes.

Limehouse Basin (formerly the Regents Canal dock, much reduced in size)

Limehouse Lock. The sides of the old ship lock can be seen, along with one of the lock gate recesses on the left side. This picture was taken on a extremely high tide when one would have had the rare opportunity of locking down into the basin!
